You have put your finger on it, Matt, ReformKU (not a typo) was just a goosestep away from mob rule, as they tried to march along with the biggest banners and the loudest voices behind them.
Trump-ery = things that have little value but are superficially attractive (says my dictionary) so that Farage becomes showy but worthless.
Yes, one has to be of 'a certain age' to recall it as it now seems rather old fashioned and has fallen into disuse; curiously Trump and I were both born in '46 which just adds an a frisson of pleasure.
As ever insightful, to be read by the already convinced. But offers no counter to Farage's media immediacy attraction, to the wider public, who have forgotten how to stop and think, connecting the dots.
We, that is all of us, should help and compile a billboard of each of Reform's U-Turns, dating and keynoting the thrust of each twist and turn. Keynotes writ large and simple so even those with a 12 second attention span can catch the drift.
I agree. There is the argument that FPTP locks out marginal parties, which has previously been Reform, but this is fundamentally undemocratic - there is no mandate or legitimate authority to dictate which parties are 'acceptable' or not. In truth, FPTP is conspiracy between Labour and the Tories to ensure a two party hegemony. And then there is the danger of 'edge' effects, which you are alluding to, where three or four parties score high teens votes shares and precious few seats and one wins perhaps a low twenties votes share and hundreds of seats and thus Farage, catastrophically, wins a landslide on the thinnest level of actual support - all this a direct result of FPTP, and impossible under PR. I'm not convinced MPs currently sitting in Parliament are aware of the danger, but electoral reform should be an urgent priority. Needless to say it isn't.
Nothing clever or funny to say, just pretty speechless and despairing about geopolitics lately and any support given to paedophile rapist Trump and genocidal Netanyahu!
“Supply side” & “Demand side” Nifty analogy. For alternative suppliers the greatest problem is convincing the demand side they are selling a superior product, they do this with advertising which subtly implants itself in the daily mind set of the demand side until one day, often without even realising they're doing so, they swap suppliers.
The problem with Reforms demand side is they, mainly mistakenly, believe they've found the greatest product on Earth which also, if they don't read the small print, appears to be completely free as opposed to the offerings of all the other suppliers which appear, unless they read the small print, to be very expensive.
So how do you get them to even look at your apparently inferior product let alone read the small print?
This is no more than I would expect from farrago the fascist, who is better known as 'brown tongue nige' from his constant licking of trumpty dumpty's backside - and this moron could conceivably be our next PRIME MINISTER - a sobering thought indeed !
Ahh yes, the we didn't say that excuse. Unfortunately for refuk there are receipts. I would suggest that if they're so gung ho for us to get involved, why dont they enlist?
Agreed, performative populism without substance. It also astounds me that even those that lean to the right have not seen through Trumps performative (shallow) populism
And the large accounts associated with Reform also joined in. This is important because it is never clear which accounts are sponsored and which aren’t. But again, as I saw with other “statists” who believe in the political system (or team winning as I call it), ignoring the failures of their preferred team, it was no different for the populists.
Since Britain is dependent on the wealth generated by London and the South East, I’m always surprised that Farage and Co don’t concentrate on this area and suggest it simply declares UDI from the rest of the UK.
Reform UK has tied itself in knots over the Iran War - and it highlights a contradiction at the very heart of right-wing populism.

On this matter of Iran war
We would not need to view our convenes in other country if the Dictatorship Iran Govt
listened to other country leader views the way Iran is run by religious nuts in charge.
**
Now let put some views on the people that live in Iran and support the dictatorship religious nut their (they vote to power) yet DO Nothing to hold them to account all they do is run off when the wars start up to other country to doze why?
Q-1
Should they NOT be holding their elected Govt to account to get a better way of life Y-N?
Q-2
Do the people of Iran fully understand the cost to other country people to sort out their religious NUT leader mess and hold them to account the People of Iran should be doing Y-N?
Q-3
People of Iran that backed the leaders in charge terrorising over country people and trying to bomb us into submission will not work full STOP!
Q-4
Was Mr Trump right to start this new war NO-NO it will be used to hold other country to ransom over gas -oil supplies Mr Trump should have put safeguards in place to the supply of gas -oil uninterrupted before letting Israel bomb the hell out of Iran and getting NO where fast.
Concluding!
I live in the U.K. were we are getting flooded now with illegal immigrants and Terrorist Boat people that are NOT Refugees at all but here to disrupt our way of life and take over the U.K.

My person views only here below MATT
Our U.K. Labour Govt must stop allowing the protesters for Iran protesting on our streets of U.K.
if they have a problem what is going on in Iran now they should all go back to Iran and protest there NOT on our U.K. streets, but they will NOT -Why because the religious nut will have them shot they put into power.

Q-To all country leaders
WHY should the people of your country suffer and fund the wars of over country making while the citizen of the waring country DO-P***ALL to hold their elected Govt to account?
More reasons to keep Farage & Co away from control or influence in the UK.

I've just looked Trumpery up.
OMG perfect.

Unless you can think of a better way?
We urgently need electoral reform as the current system could so easily hand unprecedented power to these dangerous people.

How can anyone with even a modicum of political awareness not know this? Why MPs fail to act is baffling.

Great summary Matt and l hope it will impact on their electoral appeal in the forthcoming Local Elections though unfortunately I have my doubts🤞

Farage is a life long totally self interested liar and racist. Just the character you need for a public servant!!

'All fur coat and no knickers' could be another way of describing Farage / Reform
A concise and brilliant exposé of the untrustworthiness of the slithy toves that make up Reform UK.
