Sorry I can't pay right now, under £800 per month income as a pensioner is barely sufficient. BUT I'm vehemently in favour of what the above piece says. You are right, the situation is not hopeless, but it is fraught. One of the problems, as I see it, is the inability of many concerned citizens to react aggressively. The Right has no qualms about being vicious. I am not advocating violence, but responses to the Right must be better directed.

You're right, Graeme. There is an unhelpful asymetry across the board here. People who share our concerns tend to be cautious about jumping to conclusions, hesitant to think they have a viable answer, worried about failing to live up to the values we espouse if they engage with the hard right in a basic, robust manner. Meanwhile the hard right have no such dilemmas and repeatedly run rings around us. That has to change.

Dear Mark, though I took the free option, as Northern Coordinator for the Rejoin EU Party, I have shared your latest to many. Hopefully some of them will. Also please look at UK PMs, who are defacto dictators. There is no counterweight, no checks and balances on their power so long as they have majority support in the commons, like a dictator has military support until he (usually a he) does not. Same with UK PMs....
